Abstract:
This study aimed to examine the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies in enhancing the quality of data journalism in Sudan by analyzing their impact on key journalistic quality indicators, including information accuracy, report production speed, content clarity, and the reduction of journalistic errors. The study adopted a descriptive-analytical approach and utilized an electronic questionnaire as the primary data collection instrument. The sample consisted of 51 journalists working in both digital and traditional media institutions in Sudan. The findings revealed a significant positive impact of artificial intelligence on the quality of data journalism. Information accuracy ranked first with a mean score of 4.30, followed by report production speed with a mean score of 4.05, highlighting the effectiveness of AI technologies in improving journalistic performance and efficiency. The results also indicated a moderate level of awareness of AI tools among journalists, alongside weak institutional support and limited specialized training. This finding reflects a gap between the available technological potential and its practical implementation within media organizations.
The study recommends strengthening specialized training programs, improving digital infrastructure, and adopting clear institutional strategies for integrating artificial intelligence into journalistic practices. Such measures would contribute to enhancing media content quality and enabling media organizations to keep pace with rapid digital transformations.

Abstract:
Strategic maritime straits play a vital role in supporting global trade, energy transportation, and international economic stability. However, increasing political tensions and geopolitical conflicts in major maritime chokepoints have raised concerns regarding their potential impact on the global economy. This study aimed to examine the effects of political tensions in strategic maritime straits on international trade, energy security, transportation systems, and overall economic stability. The research adopted a descriptive-analytical methodology based on the review and analysis of peer-reviewed scientific literature, international reports, and documented geopolitical events related to major strategic waterways, particularly the Strait of Hormuz, the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, and the Suez Canal. The findings revealed that political instability and security disruptions in strategic maritime straits significantly affect global economic performance through increased transportation and insurance costs, fluctuations in energy prices, supply chain disruptions, and reduced trade efficiency. The study also demonstrated that the interconnected nature of the modern global economy amplifies the consequences of localized geopolitical crises, allowing their effects to extend across multiple economic sectors and regions. Furthermore, the results highlighted the importance of maritime security and international cooperation in maintaining the uninterrupted flow of global trade and energy supplies. The study concludes that the stability of strategic maritime chokepoints is closely linked to global economic security and sustainable economic development. Accordingly, strengthening maritime security measures, enhancing international cooperation, and diversifying transportation and energy routes are essential strategies for mitigating the economic risks associated with political tensions in strategic waterways.
